Educational Support Project

Thanks to the generous contribution of our well-wishers in 2019, proceeds from our first fundraising event permitted us to provide school supplies to more than one thousand children in a local school.

Background

The Bakoswiss Educational Support Project is an initiative of Bakoswiss, after carrying out an appraisal on pupils performance in public exams. The results focus on the two main public exams in primary schools (the first learning certificate and the common entrance examination into the secondary schools). It was discovered that due to the parents’ financial situation most of the pupils do not have the necessary learning materials such as text and writing books; pens and pencils. The lack of these materials were mostly found among female pupils/ young girls.

Bakoswiss aims at supporting these pupils in order to contribute to the increase of literacy rate in Kupe Muanengube Division of the South-West Region of Cameroon.
